CHILDREN’S CLASS – ages 3-6

Bringing your child to Tae Kwon-Do during their early developmental years is a wonderful way to provide them with a great base in physical skill as well as a sense of confidence and focus.  This is a unique time of discovery for children in terms of getting acquainted with what their bodies can do!  Students will learn the basics of kicking and punching, but they will also be taught respect for others and as well as respect for self.

As white, yellow, and green belts, students will focus on learning dojang etiquette, respect for their instructors, as well as the very basics of foundational Tae Kwon-Do movements, blocking, kicking, striking, and stances.

Blue, Red, and Pre-Black Belts will put to use what they have learned as lower belts, using their skills to practice momentum kicking and beginner forms.

The Children’s Class promises to be a time for building social skills, respect for others, confidence building, agility training, and Tae Kwon-Do skills.  Students will be challenged to control their bodies and use the physical training for class only with an emphasis on respect.

We look forward to seeing your child in our classes!

JUNIORS – ages 7-13

This class is designed to challenge your child to train their body and mind, developing focus, strength, control, and confidence.  Respect has always been a fundamental rock of Tae Kwon-Do, but we strive not only to encourage outward respect to instructors, parents, and peers, but to Self as well.

White, Yellow, and Green Belts will receive specific training in agility, punching, kicking, striking, blocking, stances, flexibility, and balance.  They will also practice simulating sparring in the form of one-step drills with no contact.  Students will learn the TKD forms that accompany their belt rank.

Blue, Red, Pre-Black, and Black Belts are given their own mid-week class to build upon the skills they were taught as lower belts.  They will increasingly practice sparring drills and light contact sparring, learning body control.  As they learn the forms required for each belt, they will be challenged to understand the deeper meaning attached to them with attention to proper technique.  Students will have cardiovascular challenges in this class, encouraging endurance and mental focus.

All belts will learn the tenets of Tae Kwon-Do: Courtesy, Integrity, Perseverance, Self-Control, and Indomitable Spirit.

We look forward to having your child in our classes!

TEENS – ages 14-17

Whether you are a white belt coming into our school with no martial arts experience or you have trained in other disciplines, we have a wonderful community of teenagers at our dojang.  They are open, accepting, and encouraging and they are happy to see a new face at the school.

The five tenets of Tae Kwon-Do are Courtesy, Integrity, Perseverance, Self-Control, and Indomitable Spirit.  Training to have a solid sense of self-control is a focus in working with teens.  As they go about their daily lives, Tae Kwon-Do can help to improve their sense of confidence and enhance their ability to work through difficult situations.

White, Yellow, and Green Belts will receive specific training in agility, punching, kicking, striking, blocking, stances, flexibility, and balance.  They will learn the basics of sparring and will have the opportunity to experience light contact fighting.  Students will learn the TKD forms that accompany their belt rank.

Blue, Red, Pre-Black, and Black Belts are challenged with classes dedicated to pushing the student at their current skill level.  They will work to improve upon basic skills taught as lower belts and will deepen their understanding of forms.

The teen classes will help your child to improve their cardiovascular fitness as well as sharpen their mental focus.  Meditation at the beginning of each class will help to encourage inner stillness and self-control.

ADULTS

Adults come to Tae Kwon-Do because they desire the training.  They are not pushed by their parents to attend classes, nor are they driven to class and picked up by someone who will then go home and make them dinner!  Adults train because they want to be there, to not only challenge their bodies, but to sharpen their minds.

We are extremely proud of the MooShim Adult group and we have a strong sense of community.  Class after class, students show up, greet each other and begin their training.  Beginner adults will increase their agility, flexibility, and sense of balance.  While learning basic blocking, striking, kicking, and stances, they will practice sparring drills as well.

Advanced students will build upon basic skills while learning advanced techniques.  All practitioners will increasingly practice sparring drills, learning body control.  Everyone who desires to do so will have the opportunity to spar, with gear, to not only challenge themselves physically but to become comfortable with confrontation.  We practice great control with sparring with a strong emphasis on encouragement and courtesy.

Forms are an essential element in Tae Kwon-Do training.  These forms are cumulative and students are encouraged to practice daily.  As students learn the forms required for each belt, they will be challenged to understand the deeper meaning attached to them with attention to proper technique.

While adult students will certainly be challenged physically, there is also a strong focus on developing the mind.  We incorporate meditation and work to develop a calm center.

We offer morning and evening classes so you can find what works best for you!

CONDITIONING

Here at Mooshim TKD we welcome everyone to our conditioning classes, Tae Kwon-Do practitioners and non-martial artists alike.  If you are looking to increase your fitness level, come and join us!  In this fast paced 45 minute class, you will be challenged physically and mentally.  Over time, you will see an improvement in strength, agility, muscular endurance, and mental fortitude.

We have wonderful instructors who will assess what you can do and will work with you to help you achieve your goals.  We will teach you proper hydration and how to best fuel yourself so you can get the most out of your training.  So, bring your personal best and drag a friend along and we will see you in class!

SELF-DEFENSE

This eight week self-defense course is not only designed to teach the skills of proper striking and blocking in response to an attack.  It also encompasses conditioning, focus, and challenges the practitioner to move with confidence.  Students learn how to efficiently observe the world around them and to cultivate the necessary techniques to defend with self-assurance.

A powerful energy exists in the space created by an attacker and a defender.  Come and spend time in that space with two master instructors.  Learn how to close the space, how to manipulate it, how to breathe while inside it.  Explore feeling uncomfortable in a safe environment.  Discover your strength!

Don’t let your strength level, size, age, or lack of experience hold you back.  Self-Defense training is for everyone.
