In almost every city in this country, you can throw a stone and quickly hear its ping against the windows of a martial arts studio.  What makes this school different?  MooShim Tae Kwon Do is not only unique in that it is woman-owned and operated, but also in that while it teaches a traditional martial art, our school encourages openness, a sharing of ideas across the martial arts spectrum. With over 15 years experience, Master Amy Steiner has seen Tae Kwon Do from many different perspectives. She has not only become a master in this discipline, but has have watched their own daughters train and receive their black belts.

Amy has also served as an instructor at several dojangs and has had the wonderful opportunity of sharing her knowledge of TKD with students from every walk of life, teaching young children through seniors. She has worked extensively with special needs students and believes that anyone who has the desire to train in the martial arts can do so, no matter what they may face in their every day life.  Indeed Tae Kwon Do, because of its ability to improve focus and physical agility, flexibility, and strength, a difference can be felt even after a short time of training.

MooShim hopes to encourage students to not only reach black belt level but to take advantage of the opportunity to experience the greater Tae Kwon Do community.  Amy has benefited from training in several dojangs and by sharing knowledge with many Masters and Grandmasters.  Amy continues her training as a lifelong student of Tae Kwon Do and she has also derived great value from training in Korea, the birthplace of Tae Kwon Do, studying the culture and language in order to deepen her practice.

Traditional Tae Kwon Do is more than just a physical pursuit.  It is a philosophical discipline, encompassing the five tenets, Courtesy, Integrity, Perseverance, Self-Control, and Indomitable Spirit.

Our mission is to infuse those tenets with passion, community, and leadership, creating an experience that will enrich a student’s life in Tae Kwon Do and beyond.
